Michigan House - Complete Kitchen!

I figured it's about time that I show what the final kitchen turned out to look like :) It's only a few years overdue!  Granted, the process took a few years to complete!  The cabinet bases were stained in 2012, the doors were off and took until the Summer of 2013 to complete.  Finally in 2016 I added the knobs/pulls and redid the floor updated the flooring!

These aren't the best of 'after' pictures, but I can't do any better because we sold this house already :)  All in all, I loved how that kitchen turned out.  I'm excited to tackle the kitchen of our new house.  Thankfully I don't have to redo the counters!

Starting Fresh

Where do I even begin?  My last post was written over 4 years ago!  Since then, I finished our kitchen, replaced the laminate wood flooring, all the doors and added storm windows.  Then we sold that house! I started school, quit my job, Aron got a new job and we moved!  But, let's go back and catch up.

In 2012, I started working full time for Spectrum Health in Nutrition Services and I worked in that department for 3 years.  In 2015, I was offered a position in Patient Services doing registration.  Aron's job with Pepsi ended, and he became an Assistant Manager at a local pizza place.

In 2014, we took a vacation to Greenville, SC to visit his brother.  We quickly fell in love with the area and decided that we wanted to make a plan to move there and it became our 10-year plan.

In January 2015, I decided to go back to school to get my Associates in Business Administration.  I would start classes in May.

In April 2015, I flew to Florida with my mom, and we drove my aunt's car back to home.  We spent the night near Orlando, I stayed with friends and my mom stayed with my aunt.  Mom and I then drove over to the Atlantic coast and up making our way through Jacksonville to visit more friends, then stopping in Savannah GA for some tourist attractions.  After Savannah, we headed to Greenville for a few days to spend with Aron's brother and his fiancĂ©e and pick up my dress for their wedding.  While visiting, I was also able to catch up with one of my best friends who had moved there years ago.  Mom saw why Aron and I fell in love with Greenville!  We drove through Gatlinburg TN on the way home - and it tooks us 7 hours to get through because of the Classic Car Show in Pigeon Forge and another event in Dollywood!

In June 2015, Aron and I went back to Greenville for his brother's wedding.  We drove down and ended up stranded in the mountains in North Carolina.  Our car died and we had to leave it there.  His brother rescued us at 4 in the morning!  We very much enjoyed the wedding festivities and officially welcoming my new sister into the family!  We then had to rent a car to get home!

In December 2015, Aron was offered a full time job working at a chemical manufacturing company - in Greenville SC.

January 1, 2016 we moved Aron down to SC.  He stayed with his gracious brother and sister-in-law until we were able to find an apartment or house.  That process ended up being a long 6 months, but we found a house and he moved in July.  In the meantime, I still had school.  We still had our house in Michigan and so we lived apart from each other.  I have made a few trips down to visit, some longer than others.

In May 2016, my mom, two of my aunts and I hauled much of our furniture and other belongings so that Aron could get settled as soon as we closed on our house.

I left my position with Spectrum Health in June 2016 to allow me to focus on school and to be able to travel between Michigan and South Carolina.

In July 2016, I moved pretty much the remainder of our stuff along with our two kitties.  Leaving the bare minimum in our house in Michigan.  This allowed me to update the house easier and have an almost empty house to show.

Over the course of the next few months (July through October), I made the 13 hour drive a few times.  Between selling our Michigan house and starting Fall classes, I pretty much lived out of a suit case and in my car haha!  After we sold our house, I still had to finish classes so my dear friend is allowing me to crash at her place.  I will graduate in April 2017, and this semester I have all online classes which is allowing me to spend the majority of my time with my husband in South Carolina.  I can't wait for school to be done, and for me to officially be able to say see-you-later Michigan!  And I'll only have to go back to visit for fun!

That is a long post catching you up on where we are today.  I'll post more details about certain events and making our new house into our home on later dates!
